I am 23 now as of writing this blog, and have still not seen one full MLP:FIM episode in my life; I've only seen clips of the show. I did not have Hub on my cable back then before it got cut in February 2014. However, my history with MLP:FIM in my younger years is pretty weird.
Here's a summary of my history with MLP each year...
2010: Went by without having heard of the show, despite it coming out that year. I was 10 when it first came out on 10-10-10.
2011: First discovered the show through a YTP/YTPMV of Fluttershy screaming from "Green Isn't Your Color". Later that year, gotten into more ponies and fanart and TV memes, and went on to create a few of my own to post on a now-defunct pony image site which I do not want to name here, including some weird stuff.
2012: Not only have I seen more clips, but I also got into the weird side of the MLP community like thinking about slime/other messy stuff on the ponies starting with the beginning of that year in January-April. Watching Nickelodeon-style slimings was the inspiration for taking this messy interest over to ponies. Took a break from the messy MLP stuff after I turned 12 in May seeing how weird it was.
2013: I got back to the "weird side of MLP" I mentioned in the last year (specifically with Princess Luna, Rainbow Dash, and Lightning Dust not even knowing how awful of a personality she has) and I don't really wanna talk about it... it's too gross and creepy looking back. Don't ask me any questions about that year, I get how bad it was. I do not wish to open old ancient wounds of the past, and for any aliases from back then to be associated with this crap.
2014: Moving on from the slime/whipped cream on ponies thing, I got into Windows OSes instead involving MLP background photos/themes, along with some other fellow friends from the Windows OS community. It was a pretty fun ride and I enjoyed what I was doing as an 8th grader going on 14. A scene from a specific episode that aired that year, "Filli Vanilli" where Pinkie makes Fluttershy cry, is still in my head for the past 9 years after it aired though...
2015: Reaching my 10th grade year (15 years old), I regret being the whipped cream obsessed-self of the past and request my past garbage to get deleted, thus temporarily ending my MLP interest for a while due to creeping out everybody from back then, and I apologize to everybody I wronged/creeped out. Wanted to upload an image of Princess Cadance crying over low ink, but that got deleted due to TV memes being no longer in style as of that year.
2016-2019: Took a break from MLP:FIM for the next 4 years, and limited my exposure to the series due to my weird past. I moved on to other games and TV shows I had an interest in.
2020: Got back into the series after it just ended, and boy did I miss out on a lot. Season 6 had the fun new looking place known as Las Pegasus, season 7 had a fun episode about pies and being honest, season 8 sucks hard and is a trash heap, and season 9 didn't do enough to repair season 8's damage. Made fun of my weird MLP past in SpongeBob fanon episodes I wrote in June that year.
2021-present: Trying to keep G4 as alive as possible through talking about it w/online friends and other fanmade stuff. G5 just isn't as good as G4 from the 2010s. It's as if the FIM timeline fast-forwarded 3000 years in the future and undone what the previous Mane 6 did.
