The Rainb0w Mythos is a shared fictional universe based on the fan stories of brony author Rainb0w Dashie . The term is an allusion to the Cthulhu Mythos in which the stories that encompass The Rainb0w Mythos include shared elements, characters, settings, and themes instead of each story being it's own self-contained universe. 

Steeped in the roots of Dark Romanticism, Psychological Horror, Gothic Fiction, and Jungian Psychology, common themes in The Rainb0w Mythos include:

• The moral ambiguity of good and evil, playing off the 'every villain is the hero of their own story' trope and presenting characters making the right choices for the wrong reasons or the wrong choices for the right reasons. Often attempting to acculturate story 'villains' to have believable motivations instead of cartoonishly evil 'for the sake of being evil' motivations.
• Psychological and emotional vulnerabilities/fears revealing the darker parts of the character's psyche that may have been repressed or denied. Using a character's fears and instabilities to build tension.
• Gloomy and frightening scenery and the mysterious, melancholy, and supernatural elements of the medieval-inspired architecture and ruins of Equestria.
• Characters that are prone to sin and self-destruction in a natural world that is dark, decaying, and mysterious that frequently shows individuals failing in their attempts to make changes for the better.
• A divine undercurrent with themes of primordial light and darkness with 'characters' representing the personification of darkness, light, the sun, the moon, emotions, etc. Signifying a constant struggle between light and darkness and various cosmic truths that are beyond the comprehension of many of the characters inside the mythos.

Inspired by the music of Cult of Luna, A Pale Horse Named Death, and the author's own dreams; This is a story about the things we believe in, the things swept away by the passage of time, and the things left behind that are still there waiting for you.

Description: As Rainbow Dash prepared to return home from the Wonderbolts on winter leave, she expects to attend the gala and spend the rest of the winter season relaxing with her friends. Instead she receives an urgent telegram summoning her to Ponyville where she is greeted by an angry mob and a shadow of her past.

When it starts to threaten her friendships, Rainbow Dash realizes just how dangerous the situation is, and is forced to confront the ghosts of her past and the life she left behind. Lest the one she built for herself crumbles in her hooves.

We all have days we feel we can’t survive. Sometimes our dreams are crushed. Sometimes our friendships fall apart. Sometimes the ones we love betray us. Sometimes sickness overtakes us and we may even lose the ponies we love.

Use of ChatGPT and OpenAI

On 5/30/23 while asking what Chaptgpt thought of the Rainb0w Mythos story Waiting For you [ link to chatpgpt section] Rainb0w got reinspired to work on the mythos when ChaptGPT went rogue and started re-writing sections of the story and predicted the ending chapter before it was even exposed to it.

After deliberating, Rainb0w decided he wanted to use Chatgpt for help with writing the story. Thinking about the internet’s current aversion to open ai technology, Rainb0w shared similar sentiments in wanting to keep with the purity of creative work, but then also thought along the same lines of expanding and evolving technologies and the way societies have reacted to changing tech: Such as teachers complaining about students not working on slates, or people complaining about writing on typewriters vs quill and ink, or automobiles vs horses, or television over radio, etc.

The distinction Rainb0w makes is that he wants to use open ai technology to assist in the creative process in the same way that someone would, say, use a calculator to help with math formulas (you use the calculator to verify or help with building the equation but it’s not writing the entire equation for you, there’s still largely human input required). Likewise, going along the sentiment of what makes something transformative, the open ai software doesn’t write in Rainb0w’s flowery writing style. Therefore what is generated still needs to be broken down into its base elements and concepts, pondered over, expanded on, and re-written from the groumd up, and given inspiration credit, So in that sense Rainb0w feels it’s no different than gaining inspiration from a piece of media, book, song, or other source, it’s still going through the filter of human imagination and the creative process to turn it into something original and transformative.

As such, for the sake of Ethics, Rainb0w has included this missive detailing the use of open ai technology in the planning and creative process for the mythos and has also included a separate article for all generated open AI concepts that are included in the mythos which will detail how they’ve been disseminated and transformed into the mythos and all associated stories.
