What brought the My Little Remix site together as home to hundreds of MLP artists was a set of remix competitions called Remix Wars with the first one originating in June 2011. It resulted in 4 rounds of community remixes over several months where the community openly collaborated with each other remixing each other's work. Remix Wars were not official compilation album releases and they were uploaded onto hosting sites like mediafire (not Bandcamp) and featured by sites like Equestria Daily.
