My Little Universe is a Crossover Novel series created by EquestrianKirin on FimFiction. This story is primarily a crossover between the Fourth Generation of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and the CartoonNetwork series Steven Universe.

Style[]

The series is styled in a multi-perspective point of view, in which different chapters follow different characters as a main focus of the chapter in question (as opposed to Steven Universe it's crossed over with, which strictly follows Steven's perspective).

Due to the length of the story, the entire narrative is split up into different volumes and, in a play on words, are referred to as "Seasons". Along with that, each season is structured similarly to the MLP:FiM TV series, with elements from the Steven Universe series mixed within it:

  • 22 Chapters are written per season (there are a few exceptions to the rule Ex. Seasons 3 and 7)
  • A two-parter opener and/or a two-part finale is often written per season.
  • Each chapter is written in an episodic manor, with some referencing or linking to previous chapters in similar vain to a Television show.

Summary[]

The main series overall follows the adventures of both the Elements of Harmony from Equestria (Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Twilight Sparkle) and the Crystal Gems from Earth (Amethyst, Garnet, Pearl, and Steven Universe). Each season mirrors the events that occur between both series, while also including it's own original plots and stories as well. The entire series takes place with five years:

Main Series[]

  • Season 1 - (September 25th: 2015 - January 1st 2016) The season starts off during the events of "Princess Twilight Sparkle PT2" (MLP Season 4 episode 2), and "An Indirect Kiss" (SU Season 1A episode 24). Much of the series follows the events of both Steven Universe S1-B and My Little Pony S4. Two subplots play out during this season:
    • The first subplot involved Rainbow Dash going with Peridot as the Gem was maintaining Earth and studying it. Rainbow stayed with her as Fluttershy had to keep the situation quiet. This subplot lasted from "The Warp Zone" to "Slice of Maud Pie" upon Rainbow's return.
    • The secondary subplot began in "Sombra Del Diablo", in which Sombra returns and gave Steven Universe Corruption, him planning to take over Homeworld. This subplot lasted until the season finale, upon Sombra's defeat.

The first season spans out over the course of one summer (three months).

  • My Little Universe with Logo 2
Season 2 - (January 8th; 2016 - May 5th; 2016) This season starts shortly after Season One did, and most of it isn't influenced from either series, mostly original work and story. This season is split up into two separate arcs, split up between the hiatus taken in between the season's run:
    • Preparation Arc: The first arc revolves around the preparation and construction of the Galactic Ray, and the Gems and Mane six readying up for their big trip to Homeworld. This arc spanned from New Light to Preparation. (A small subplot revolves around Jasper's adaptation to her situation just prior to the development to the Galactic Ray, which also includes her fusion with Garnet.)
    • Homeworld Arc: The Homeworld arc takes place just after the initial completion of the Galactic Ray, and mostly focuses on Homeworld, as the Crystal Gems and Mane Six arrive there. This arc lasts throughout the rest of the season.

The season spans over the course just after Season 1; Arc 1 going through much of autumn, and Arc 2 throughout winter.

  • My Little Universe with logo 3
Season 3 - (May 8th; 2016 - June 14th; 2016) The season lasts only half as long as the other seasons, in the style similar to My Little Pony S03, as it is eleven episodes long in contrast to the Twenty Two episodes in the other seasons. Much of it mirrors that of My Little Pony season 3
    • A singular two-parter at the beginning of the season
    • The new Warp Pads being built as a major change to the franchise, much as Twilight sparkle becoming an Alicorn.

This season spanned through the course of one spring season of the first year.

  • My Little Universe with Logo 5
Season 4 - (July 3rd; 2016 - January 11th; 2017) This season started at the One-Year anniversary to Lapis Lazulis joinment to the team, confirming that a year had passed since the series had began in My Little Universe: Season 1. The format of the season is similar to the MLP franchise with a two-parter opener, and a two-parter finale. Unlike the prior seasons, there isn't an overall arc or subplot played through through much of the season, and built more similarly to singular-plot episodes.

The season spanned over the course of summer, autumn, and winter.

  • My Little Universe with Logo 6
Season 5 - (January 26th; 2017 - October 19th; 2017) The season begins after the following winter from Season 4, and after the events of My Little Universe: Anarchy, starting at springtime. As said by the author, much of the structure of this season is unique compared to the other seasons, as the two-parter is placed during the middle of the season instead at the beginning or end of it. There're two notable arcs playing through this season with the two-parter splitting the two:
    • Cluster Arc: The Crystal Gems work to build the Gem Drill in order to stop The Cluster: a giant mass that will destroy the planet upon emerging. A subplot plays out with Peridot trying to make amends for her actions, later joined by Pearl who became in disgrace after using the Gem Mask. Meanwhile, Amethyst and Steven Universe are tasked with hunting down numerous Corrupted Gems as to not find out about the Cluster. They were joined by the Mane Six, and Connie Maheswaran as well.
    • Serpent Arc: After the defeat of the Cluster, and rescue of Malachite, the group begin to catch up with the locals, and try to figure out the problem with Acid and Cyanide. A subplot, which developed throughout the Cluster Arc, touches on Amethyst, Connie, and Steven and the conflict between their feelings on the fusions of Stevonnie, and Smoky Quartz.

The season is spanned over the course of one year: starting in spring, and ending in autumn.

  • MLU 6
Season 6 - (November 17; 2017 - February 22; 2018) The season begins in late winter. Unlike the other seasons, the finale has a three-part sequence instead of a two-parter. Much of this season revolved around the mystery behind Pink Diamond's shattering (A major event in Steven Universe), much of the Crystal Gems and Mane Six trying to figure out who the true culprit is, or if Rose Quartz had shattered her at all.
    • A small subplot revolves around Lapis Lazuli's feelings towards Malachite, and her personal troubles with it. It only stops when she and Pearl form Spinel.
    • A subplot revolves around Steven Universe's inner conflict with Connie Maheswaran after "The Results Are In". This subplot between the two seemingly ended after the three-part finale.

The season is spanned from late winter, to the end of summer.

  • MLU with logo 7
Season 7 - (March 24th; 2018 - September 21st; 2018) Unlike most of the other seasons, this one begins immediately after Season 6. The plot of this season, while not as prominent as prior seasons, does hold some parallels the seventh season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, in regards to the Cutie Map, and collecting the artifacts.
    • Garnet's struggle since White Diamond's latest attack is explored throughout the season, the first half dealing with her trying to "be random" to better prepare for the future.
    • A subplot revolves about the revelation of Pink Diamond's true fate, and explores everyone's reaction to such events. This is resolved by the end of the season. This subplot was originally to be for Season 8, but was extended as apart of Season 7 instead.

The season itself, despite being 33 chapters, takes places through two in-world seasons: The chapters prior to Pink Diamond's revelation taking place through autumn, and those after the revelation through winter.

  • My little universe with logo 8
Season 8 - (December 23rd; 2018 - August 2nd; 2019) Season 8 begins around Steven Universe's birthday, which is at the end of summer. Most of the season in turn takes place throughout the autumn, making it the only season prominently taking place within that season, only going more into Winter by the very end of it. Two archs play out throughout the season:
    • White Diamond Arc: After Steven's birthday, the newly-named Harmony Gems had to split up, with several members going with White Diamond on a vacation throughout the cosmos, onto various planets. All the while, Steven tries teaching White Diamond about friendship. Twilight Sparkle is now tasked with many of Celestia's royal duties.
    • A miniature arch plays out in between the main two archs, with them celebrating at the Era 3 Festival.
    • Grogar Arc: Not long after Era 3 began, Grogar takes control of Homeworld, and the Harmony Gems have to try and take it back from him. This arch lasts for the rest of the season, presumably "ending" by the season finale.

This season, much like earlier seasons 1 and 3, take place primarily throughout autumn.

  • My little universe with logo 9
Season 9 - (September 13th; 2019 - September 23rd; 2020) The final season, Season 9 takes place a week after the events of Season 8, and following much of the recovery to follow along with preparations to built a new, independent colony on Earth. Some events in the final season coincide with the Steven Universe Movie, including the introduction of singular-Gem Spinel. The season itself takes place throughout the following winter, ending right at the beginning of spring.
    • A major plotpoint throughout the season involves the effects of the Rejuvenator - a device that resets any gem it strikes. Most of the original Crystal Gems get struck by it and the season spends a lot of time on trying to get their memories back.
    • A secondary minor plotpoint involves the Draconequus Discord and the Gemkind leader White Diamond losing their powers thanks to godly intervention, and a few chapters atre spent trying to resolve this issue.

Specials[]

Throughout it's run, a few written specials had been made to accompany the main series, described by the author as similar to the Equestria Girls movies, but following the official main series' chronological events.

  • MLU special 1
My Little Universe: Mindwarp - (during Season 2)

Much of this special was inspired by both the 2010 movie "Inception", and Gemception: a SU crossover fan comic about the same movie.

Chronologically, The special takes place after the start of Season 2, namely after Fusion Confusion, as Peridot didn't have her Limb Enhancers throughout the special, with the exception of her time in the Dreamscape.

Much of the special takes place in the Dreamscape, namely the world where every creature can enter when falling asleep. The special follows two main points of view: Steven Universe exploring Rose Quartz's past through numerous flashbacks, and the Crystal Gems trying to find him and get him back while trying to survive Lucid's puzzles.

  • MLU special 2
My Little Universe: Anarchy - (Between Seasons 4 and 5)

The special mainly is inspired by the 1978 film "Watership Down", in particular the second half of the movie.

This special takes place during the winter time gap between seasons 4 and 5. The special follows a rescue mission the Crystal Gems and Mane Six take to a distant planet known as Aredox - a Gem planet ruled by Agates (namely Holly Blue Agate).

  • MLU movie
My Little Universe: Supernova - (Between Seasons 7 and 8)

Considered the MLU "movie" by the author, this one's written and produced in between seasons as a major chronological story. As revealed in the written synopsis, this special takes place on the fifth year time mark of the series, on the fifth "birth-iversary" for both Stevonnie and Lapis Lazuli. The special itself, while not specifically determined, lasts over a week following the "fallout" phase of the Everstorm - a supernatural phenomenon that occurs throughout the special. The story is structured in two main plots: one chapter focusing on Equus and surviving the world without magic, and the other focusing on Earth and Beach City dealing with the Dazzlings.

  • My Little Universe: Starlight

This is revealed the day after season 09's completion, and the author describes it as the final canonical addition to the franchise. The current date of release is unknown.

Characters[]

Numerous amount of characters stemming from both My Little Pony and Steven Universe make an appearance and a role within the series, either being canon characters, or original characters. Some characters were willingly allowed to be used by the author from other creators. The main cast that appears throughout the series mainly consist of the two main groups: the Crystal Gems, and the Elements of Harmony. They are often the main view-point of the franchise:
