FreckleShark is the pseudonym of a British artist known for their MLP fan art and 'Shark Pony' original fan character. They are also known as Sharkpone or Haxy.
Early Fandom[]
Initially called Sharkpone on Tumblr, They've been a fan of the series as early as august 2011 crediting a reaction clip of Rainbow Dash saying "Oh my gosh" as well as listening to the fandom created music. They would design a grey and white spotted shark-horse hybrid (sharkpony) with a red-orange gradiant mane called 'Haxy' and was often seen with other artists, most notably the characters of fandom musicians FLAOFEI and HACKD, but also alongside many other Sharkponies on Tumblr including Bleed-Shark, MaydayMayday, Ask-a-WhiteShark, Ask-Sullen (aka Sullen Shark Stallion) and more.

They had a short-lived exploration into music production which would spawn the bonus track 'Filly Munchies' (a collaboration with FLAOFEI using image synthesis) for Pinkamena Party's maneline album release RAINBLOOD & VOMIT. Apart from posting their work online, they were also involved in organizing small brony meet-ups and attending national conventions. However, they would become less active towards the end of 2014.
Later Fandom[]
In 2022, they would return using the alias FreckleShark or simply 'Freckle' (although this username existed as early as 2017 but inactive) who is a sandy coloured Sharkpony with a tangerine mane, an affinity for Pac-Man/NAMCO and their trademark large quantity of face sprinkles. They would continue to draw graphics and art including for the fandom music project, Pinkamena Party.

FreckleShark's main artistic inspirations come from Slugbox
, Futret & Squeedgemonster who have also influenced their work outside of the fandom. Their style can be described as clean vector-like lineart, cel shaded and characters usually having a distinctive 'bullseye' shaped iris/pupils with thick black borders. Their work has a creepy/cute appeal.
Notes[]
- Haxy was originally a 'sharp-toothed' earth pony before Flaofei likened it to a shark. This would lead to both artists adopting a Sharkpony sona thereafter.
- They submitted art for the BronyUKConvention Conbook in 2012 under the name Sembers and attended in both 2012 & 2013.
- Songs exist about the species and character either through collaboration or by other musicians, works such as a Lol, Sharkpone Headfanon Confirmed, Theme for Haxy, Happy Birthday Haxy & Sharkponi.
- They were the album artist for POLKA PLOT, a polkacore style music project by FLAOFEI released in December 2013.
- They provided generic crowd noises for General Mumble's set Crowd In A Can: Live at the SCC: Manchester Central.
- Their favourite princess is Celestia, notably in her Daybreaker villain form found in the later seasons and Fluttershy is their favourite Mane 6 character.
- Initially, Freckle was supposed to be an updated version of the older Haxy design as she also sports a long off-shoulder shirt but has evolved into their own seperate character (Due to the length of hiatus creating the need for a fresh start).
- Sharkponies are depicted as having and not having cutiemarks, Freckle's has a duality where can either be one or just another blemish.
- The Sharkpony's cutiemark appears to be a pie shape with bite taken out of it indicating their nature but it's infact Pac-man preparing to eat one of their freckles.
- Freckle does not eat other ponies or any other show creatures, she eats kelp. Although this cannot be said for other sharkponies.
