Cloudsdale is a chat-centric social network designed mainly for fans of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, created by Philip Vieira aka Zeeraw using the Ruby on Rails framework. Intended as a replacement of sorts for the commonly-used IRC protocol, Cloudsdale has over 29900 registered members and 3700 chat groups as of July 2013 and is primarily accessed through the main website, as well as several mobile applications.

About[]

In September 2011 Zeeraw released the alpha for Cloudsdale, a barebones social network for Bronies. After going through several iterations and interface changes it quickly evolved into a modern chatsite that gained popularity after being featured on several prominent fansites such as Equestria Daily and Equestria Gaming (the later of which has been a longtime partner and owns the website's most successful chat group). Popular demand eventually lead to the creation of an iPhone client, which was followed by a Windows Phone app and has spurred the development of an upcomming Windows 8 app.

Cloudsdale has a very diverse community, featuring chat groups (called "clouds") centered around various topics ranging from gaming to fanfiction and music. All public clouds are required to be SFW and follow the site's official policies, while private ones tend to be less restricted when it comes to rules .

As of January 2015, Cloudsdale was taken offline, as the moderators did not raise enough money to keep the site afloat.

In December of 2016 the site briefly came back online before being permanently shut down in late April of 2019 due to a newly-discovered security issue.
