Cream Heart is an original character created by JanAnimations and Berry Sweet, and designed by Berry Sweet. She is a tan Earth pony mare with a heart and a baby bottle for a cutie mark, featured in the fan animation Button's Adventures in which she appears as the protagonist Button Mash's mother.
Personality[]
Cream Heart is commonly portrayed with the same personality as in Button's Adventures, that being a caring and nurturing mother (in line with her cutie mark) who shares her son's love for video games. If necessary, she can also be strict with him when his gaming falls into obsession. Outside JanAnimations' work, she has also been portrayed as an avid competitive gamer, and more suggestive works present her as very sexually active.[1]
Relationships[]
As far as mature fan works are concerned, her most popular ship is with her own son Button Mash[1], this in part due to her nurturing attitude towards him and the fact that he is the only character she interacts with in the original short.
Name[]
In her first appearance in Button's Adventures, she is only referred to as "Button's Mom". A subsequent livestream gives her the name of "Elaina", and this name was later used in a "Pony-licious" video. However, Jan later clarified on Tumblr that this wasn't her actual name.[2] Eventually her name was revealed to be "Cream Heart" on JanAnimations' Twitter as part of a promotion for the sale of an official plushie by LunarShine.[3][4]
Jan also explained on his Tumblr that the revelation of her name was originally planed to be at the end of the theoretical episode 10 of Button's Adventures (the series' planned end) but for already explained reasons, this didn't come to be.[5]
Memes[]
Due to her attractive design, Cream Heart rapidly became a target for suggestive and explicit fan works, portraying her as a beautiful and sexually active mature mare. One particular example of this is the song "Button's Mom" by P1K, a parody of the song "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne.[6]
Reception[]
Due to the popularity of the fan animation, her attractive design, and loving personality, Cream Heart became a very popular character in the fandom, usually portrayed as Button's mother in fan works (regardless if they follow the canon or not) and with her own entries in host image sites with material from My Little Pony.
