Ask Roseate Grimsbane, the Witch is a story written by Robipony, centered around a unicorn mare named Roseate Grimsbane and her husband, an eldritch being from beyond the Fifth Veil, known as Arshotua.
Story Description[]
There are forces beyond the boundaries of our world, a fact that Roseate Grimsbane is fully aware of. A powerful unicorn witch, Roseate has to function as a teacher and citizen of the town of Muleport, while concealing the otherworldly powers given to her.
The fact that her husband is an Alien Intelligence from beyond the Fifth Veil, doesn't make this a simple task.
Setting[]
The story takes place in the town of Muleport just on the border of the Whitetail Woods, in an alternate version of Equestria. It also starts prior to the events of the episode, Lunar Eclipsed.
In this variation of Equestria, the concept of a witch is a pony who has made a contract with an interdimensional being for alien power or magic. Due to how deadly such a contract can be, the Equestrian government have instituted the Solar Guard to hunt down and capture any witches they come across.
Due to this, Roseate must keep her identity as a witch a secret all while teaching her students and trying to overcome a deadly threat looming in the Whitetail Woods.
There are also strange magical phenomena in this world that result in ponies possessing various monstrous traits, which they strive to keep secret. Such ponies come to Roseate looking for remedies that can help them with their monstrous ailments.
Interactive Story Format[]
During the story, Roseate would interact with the readers through a magical mirror known as a Scryial. This format allowed the readers to ask Roseate questions like an Ask Tumblr Pony blog, but also allowed Roseate to give the readers a choice to vote on. These decisions would affect the story in various ways.
These choices varied from what form Roseate's familiar could take, what sacred instrument she should use, whom to have her familiar spy on, to even what deal to make with a demon.
